Lockout tags and safety signs tell everyone on site who applied an isolation, why, and when it will be lifted. This collection covers LOTO signage tags in several styles, rip tags for high-volume use, tag holders, scaffold inspection tags, and warning signs and barriers for plant floors. Most used: the Style 3 LOTO Signage Tag and Style 2 LOTO Signage Tag as standard lockout tags, and the Style 4 LOTO Signage Tag where a larger write-on area is needed. Tags are included in every lockout kit and kept in stock at a lockout station.
FAQ: lockout tags, safety signs and barriers
No. A tag warns; only a lock prevents. Tag-only isolation is acceptable where a lock physically cannot be applied, and even then the standard asks for extra measures such as removing a fuse. Everywhere else the tag hangs on the padlock or hasp and names the person, the date and the reason. The Style 3 LOTO Signage Tag has a write-on field for exactly that; the Style 2 LOTO Signage Tag carries the danger message in three languages.
Three things: a permanent sign at the isolator naming the energy source and its lockout procedure, a warning tag on the applied lock, and where people could walk into the work area, a barrier or floor sign. Our signs follow ISO 7010 symbols with text in German, French, Italian or English. For temporary points a reusable holder such as the Mini Tag Holder takes a printed card.
Yes. Tags can carry your logo, your procedure number and a photo of the person, in the languages your site uses; signs can be made to size for a specific isolator or a whole panel. The Style 4 LOTO Signage Tag is printed to order in small runs. Send us the wording and the quantity and we send a proof before printing.
